Hi! I am a 12-year-old hockey fan living in Bridgeland, Calgary. With a little help from my dad and my Sparx machine, I provide neighbourhood skate sharpening that is fast, careful, and only $5.
Why I started sharpening skates in Bridgeland
My dad and brothers all play hockey, so skates are always in our house. Big sports stores charge around $10 and treat skates like just another routine job. My dad taught me how to use our Sparx skate sharpener properly, so I decided to offer a better option for my neighbours. At just $5 per pair, you get sharp, reliable edges right here in our community without paying high store prices.
My love for hockey and the game
I live and breathe hockey. I love the intensity of every game and watch every chance I get. My favourite team is the Montreal Canadiens (the Habs), and I look up to players like Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Carey Price, and the legend Bobby Orr. Understanding the game makes me care about how every single pair of skates feels on the ice.
Saving up for my first car at 16
Every pair of skates I sharpen brings me closer to my goal. While I would love to drive a Ferrari one day, I am being realistic and working hard to save up for a dependable used SUV by the time I turn 16. When you drop your skates off near the Bridgeland Community Association, you get a clean 15-minute turnaround while supporting a local kid working toward a big dream.
